About Kiran Kamath

Kiran Kamath is a practicing artist, an advocate for the arts, and an avid consumer of the performing arts. Kiran primarily works in acrylic and mixed media abstract paintings, and has experimented with still life and landscapes. She serves as a board member on the Arts Council of Monterey County, California and is a strong advocate of budding and underserved artists in Monterey County and beyond.  

Kiran’s journey as an artist began after a long international career as an executive and leader in the travel and tourism industry, and as a professor and senior administrator in higher education. She embraced painting and the creative arts like a fish takes to water, seamlessly moving from a left-brain oriented career to a right-brain oriented passion. 

She is passionate about art as a painter, as a student of hand-building ceramics, and as a lover of studio and performing arts. She believes that “life is art and that it needs to be lived in vivid color!” She brings this joy to her paintings - whether they are abstracts or still life. She loves color!! She experiments with color depending on her emotions and the seasons. She sees vivid colors in nature around her - sunsets, the ocean, trees, flowers, landscapes - which are captured in her paintings. 

She has focused on acrylic and mixed media paintings, and is always eager to push the envelope and explore new techniques. Stay tuned to see what Kiran comes up with next!
